SLOB (The Society of Loyola Old Boys) formally organized in late 2013 as a federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit in order to provide scholarships and material support to the club.  In addition to the direct support, the alumni organization also provides a post graduate networking organization and assistance with job placement. We are in year 6 of an ongoing capital funding effort that has enabled us to offer freshman scholarships of up to $2,500 to select High School Seniors who plan to attend Loyola next year.

The Society of Loyola Old Boys Scholarship

A note from Jed Davis,
Board Chair Emeritus…

Founded in 1976 by a group of passionate students and supported by a local Men’s Club, Loyola Rugby has grown into a nationally recognized program. Now competing in National Collegiate Rugby (formerly NSCRO), our 7’s and 15’s teams have made consecutive National Championship appearances (2018–2020) and reached the Sweet 16 four years running. We've also brought home titles from the NYC Four Leaf 15’s and Pittsburgh 7’s tournaments. Following our 2019 Potomac Conference and Mid-Atlantic Regional wins, Loyola Rugby earned a #1 national ranking. Our players have gone on to become All-Americans, Fulbright Scholars, and even Priests.

In 2013, alumni established SLOB, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to provide scholarships and support to the team. Now in year six of a capital campaign, we've awarded scholarships of up to $2,500 to incoming freshmen. SLOB also helps graduates with career networking and job placement.

Loyola Rugby is more than a team—it’s a lifelong brotherhood.

Sincerely,
Jed Davis
